In terms of writing only, volume 2 kicked volume 1's ass. I enjoyed this story way more than the first volume. What is there to say about No Game No Life, volume 2? Well, it was a lot better written than volume 1. This light novel still reeks of smugness that I'm not comfortable with but the story got me hooked so I'll just keep my expectations low and chug along on this ride. Jibril is just a stereotypical anime maid who will do things that his master(Sora & Shiro) says that will be inevitably lewd, Izuna is that anime character that keeps repeating a word in their end sentence which feels awkward in English and annoying, and there's nothing special about Ino so he fine I guess. The new characters aren't that good either. Shiro feels like she could be replaced with a robot that has coded feelings inside, Sora is still creepy especially when he said to Ino that he missed his chance to play with her granddaughter's panties that Sora wants(maybe jokingly), and Steph is just trying to make sense of it all. ![]() By that I mean I still don't like them that much. The characters are still not good though. The story got more intriguing as well with all the secrets and cliffhangers. The way the main protagonists solved these games are also pretty interesting and seems logical. ![]() The games played feels more intense and exciting than before. ![]() Finally finished the second volume and it definitely feels like an improvement to the first volume.
